The main idea is based on wanting to show the sound characteristics of the space itself, and what kind of sound experiment possibilities are there for the very large number of speakers? Is it possible to turn them into musical instruments? Not just as a playback carrier for sound content.
Before and after the soundscape of many different environmental spaces sounded, I operated the resonant snare drum sound wire, the vibrating tinfoil attached to the front of the speaker, and the metal percussion produced when the telescopic rope fence is rolled back etc. Let the attention of the audience return to the space itself. In addition, in the reverberation-free space where the work was performed, the only sound reflection between the two metal doors was also recorded by me and used in the work (unfortunately, the audience could not hear it directly due to angle restrictions). This is a corridor constructed by traveling through the sounds of there and here. 廊道施工中"Corridor under construction"是今年參與C-LAB臺灣聲響實驗室「聲徜實驗計畫」的創作成果,藉由他們的技術與硬體協助,嘗試創作於Ambisonics立體聲場演出的作品。 主要構想是基於想展現那個空間本身的聲音特質,以及那非常大量的揚聲器還有甚麼樣的聲音實驗可能? 有可能將它們化為樂器嗎? 而不僅僅是作為聲音內容的播放載體。在無數其他空間的聲音響起之前後,我藉由現場操作共振的小鼓響線、揚聲器前貼附的震動錫箔紙、伸縮帶紅龍欄柱回捲時產生的金屬敲擊,讓現場聽眾的注意力回到所在的空間本身。另外特別一提,作品演出的無殘響空間內,唯一會有的兩扇金屬門間的聲音反射也被我錄下並運用在作品中(可惜由於角度限制無法讓觀眾直接聽到)。這是一個透過在彼處、此處的聲音間穿梭而建構起的迴廊。 「芳一在田野錄音當中,被採錄下來的建築物或人造空間的聲音,作為建築與空間的回憶檔案,被壓縮至作品內。其中,紅龍作為一種臨時的建築,在拉起橫條時,暫時顯現出走廊;在收起橫條時,伴隨「噹~」的敲擊音,那走廊也隨之消逝在空氣中。這樣的消逝之聲,也一併被收入作品當中了。 反過來說,當芳一的作品在一個殘響極短的、特殊的空間「聲響實驗室大洞」內播放時,作品內的建築與空間之回憶,以建築微縮模型的形式,隨著時間被環繞的音響「列印」出來,疊加於大洞之內,而大洞的建築本身,則在黑暗中變得透明。同時,芳一在現場運用的紅龍,在作品播放的初始,乃呈現為一「具阻隔功能」的狀態,直到作品的中間段落,才由芳一現場將紅龍收起,暫時的阻隔因此消逝。這個「現場的阻隔的消逝」,與「作品中的走廊的消逝」形成了應答。 基於上述元素的紛呈,於芳一的作品《廊道施工中》的播放期間內,所有被暗示或明示的建築輪廓或空間,都在(被擇取的)回憶的播放中,閃現在雙層的消逝之間。」- 楊雨樵 |
